Explosions in Pakistan Leave Multiple Casualties
The detonation occurred in Panjgur district, according to a police control room officer who spoke to a news agency by phone. The source described it as “apparently an IED blast targeting civilians” in Chatkan Bazaar, referring to an improvised explosive device.
Security forces quickly sealed off the area and initiated a search operation to secure the site and gather evidence.
In a separate incident the same day, another blast in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province killed one person and injured nine more. Police said the device targeted a cement factory vehicle in Lakki Marwat district, according to a news outlet.
No militant organization immediately claimed responsibility for either attack.
These explosions followed deadly assaults a day earlier, when four police personnel were killed in two separate incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On Sunday, three officers died in a suspected militant strike in Lakki Marwat district.
